Festival Nature Through her Eyes, VII Academy: Interview of Birgit Peters
The Nature: Through Her Eyes festival was a special event with free admission celebrating and highlighting women’s roles in storytelling about nature and the environment, including writers, photographers, filmmakers, as well as camera and sound operators.
The festival was held in Perpignan, France from October 18-21st, 2019 with presenters from the media, literature, academia and research, and legal and commercial worlds. Programming included professional workshops, seminars, film screenings, and mentoring, and these videos offer a glimpse into the 4 days of exciting events.
The UPVD was a partner of the event.
Since 2004, Birgit Peters has written and directed natural history and wildlife documentaries for ARD, NDR, BR, VOX and ORF as well as for international co-productions such as the BBC/NDR series Pacific Abyss. She also presented the wildlife series Adventure Ocean and Wonders of the Namib for ARD and NDR amongst other productions. In 2016, Birgit became Commissioning Editor and Executive Producer for ORF UNIVERSUM, leading broadcaster and producer of blue chip wildlife documentaries. Celebrating more than 30 years, ORF UNIVERSUM work with Austrian and international production companies and major partner broadcasters in Europe, Asia and the USA.
